Honestly, we didn’t include Quercetin in the Immunity Armor Gold formula just to see how people pronounced it, even though it’s rare to hear it pronounced the same way twice without practice. The main reasons were for its ability to enhance Zinc absorption1, and reduce inflammation with Upper Respiratory Tract Infections2.

Quercetin (just Q from here on) is a polyphenolic flavonoid found in some fruits and vegetables. Here are a few examples of foods with higher Q content:

Food Q content (mg per 100g)
Capers 175-230mg
Elderberry juice 100mg
Red leaf lettuce 30mg
Asparagus 23mg
Cocoa powder 20mg
Chia seeds 18mg

The way Quercetin works is pretty complex, so we’re going to present the things it can accomplish, and invite (actually encourage in this case- they’re really a must read) you to read the detailed studies that are footnoted below for the long version.

Studies on Q:

– Q inhibits several respiratory viruses in cultured cells (including Coronavirus, Rhinovirus, Echovirus, Poliovirus) when combined with Vitamin C3. Don’t drop the mic yet, there’s more.
– Q acts as an ionophore (escort) for Zinc4.
– Q Reduces Inflammation, also decreases both severity and length of URTI infections at higher doses (500-1000mg)5.
– Q can actually reverse effects of Alzheimer’s if administered in the 1st 1-13 months of the disease6.
– Q to counteract oxidative stress7
– Q fights Cancer8

Had enough yet? And 5 minutes ago, you couldn’t even pronounce it. Ok, that probably hasn’t changed yet, but you get the picture. Quercetin covers so many bases that it’s too important to leave out of your daily routine. Sorry, but it’s our job, so you’re welcome.
